[He sighs, the hint of a smile momentarily on his lips.]

[He continues gently stroking Jamil's cheek.] Makes sense. Maybe before, I wouldn't have had this side. The more I saw you in distress since we arrived here, the more I learned to be patient.
[He makes a slight face. What is a mage without a vast majority of his powers? Jamil thinks Azul might just not fully get it, due to at least keeping some of the signature spell...
But, as things currently stand, he still feels uncomfortable with being fully open. Maybe it's his pride, but he doesn't want to reveal just how deeply he's bothered by the feeling of helplessness. So, instead, he just gives Azul a faint, grim smirk.]
Maybe I don't. I am still used to downplaying my skills, after all.
[It's a good thing Azul is so keen, and can pick up on the subtle cues of unease. Jamil isn't pressing, so neither will he, but... there is a look of understanding in his eyes.
There's a reason, after all, that when Jamil had asked to look at his pen that the magestone was so murky.]

[He lets out a quiet huff, but it's clear - glaringly so, in fact - that there's a part of him that maybe likes this. While one part is unsure of how to feel, having someone "laying claim", there's something oddly comforting about it.]
[He lets out an exaggerated huff, abruptly rolling over... though without putting any space between them. It's literally just to hide his face, basically.]
[There's a faint sound, his expression softening a little. Almost against his will, he can feel his body relaxing so much more. And, before he realizes it, his eyes become heavy.]
[If Azul doesn't fall asleep within the next ten minutes, or so, he'll get to witness Jamil's tendency to sleep a bit "restlessly", so to speak. Mainly in that he's going to roll over and blindly clutch onto the nearest "thing"... given he's so used to sleeping with pillows besides him, and all.
Meaning that he's going to be clutching onto Azul, himself, pulling the mer close and burying his face into either his neck or chest.
And he won't be moving voluntarily away from Azul. He's going to be sleeping for several hours, in fact, firmly clinging to the opposite form.]
