[Even if Azul does find himself aggravated by Jamil's evasiveness, there's a growing curiosity as well. Jamil had messaged him first, and now he was coming to meet him of his initiative. It was far more he'd ever gotten out of him than he did back at Night Raven.

After putting his notes away, he comes over and opens the door.]

Well, well.

[There's a pleased hint to his tone, a sparkle of his eye as he steps aside and opens the door wider, giving a flourish of his hand.]

Do come in, my esteemed guest.

[ Nervous energy combined with the two of them coming from the same general world can do wonders. Jamil sighs before nonchalantly gesturing to one side. ]

I wasn't planning on actually going into your cabin.

[ He folds both arms over his chest before rolling his eyes. Without another word, he simply walks into said cabin. After all, it's one of very few places to for them to get anything resembling privacy. Even if he hates it. ]

Oh, don't be shy.

[He practically chirps the words as he closes the door behind him.]

Please, make yourself comfortable.

[It looks the same as Azul's dorm room back at Night Raven, not that Jamil is familiar with it. There's a small sitting area off to the side with a table, couch and a chair as well.]

[ There's a quiet huff-like sound in response to the first words. After that, he will take the chair that's over in the sitting area.

Once Jamil is settled, he shrugs one shoulder. ]

I'll do my best.

[ Just a dry-humored joke to the requested comfort bit. ]

So, I assume you're going to ask more questions about those clearly misunderstood words?

[He follows Jamil, taking a seat on the couch. He puts a hand to his chin.]

You requested me to drop the topic, didn't you?

[A curious look at Jamil.]

[ He lifts his eyebrows, and then there's a wry smirk. ]

Yes... but I know better than to assume anything, with you.

[ There was no deal made, no real incentive for Azul to actually listen to the request. ]

[He watches him for a moment, then leans back in his seat.]

If that's the case... Why did you come here to begin with?

[Jamil is making a big show out of not wanting to talk about it, not wanting to make a big deal out of it, and yet...

Don't all his actions seem to imply the exact opposite?]

[ He nonchalantly gestures to the side while shrugging. ]

I've never liked texting. Being here doesn't improve my feelings on it. The lack of body language, tone, expressions...

[ While leaning back in his seat, he lifts his eyebrows at Azul. ]

Either way, I had nothing better to do. But, if you really have nothing else to ask me or tell me, I can go.

[Then he could have just as easily told Azul off.

But Azul won't call Jamil out on it.]

Goodness, me. Is my company so abhorrent to you that you'd rush off the first chance you get?

[How you wound him!]

But very well... Perhaps I'll start by asking if there's anything you'd like to talk about, first.

[While he knows Jamil is likely to shut him down... it's worth a shot, isn't it? He'd reached out to Azul, came to him— it seems obvious to him that there's something Jamil wants to talk to him about... even if he doesn't want to admit it, even to himself.]

Yes.

[ Such deadpan. At the next thing, Jamil cocks his head to the side a little. There's a little conflict, some signs of an internal debate. After the fairly long stretch of silence, he finally says in an overly nonchalant tone: ]

I'm considering finding a way to never go back. If I can get through this "rehabilitation" period, I might try becoming a warden, myself.

[ He shrugs. ]

The words that follow have him looking thoughtful. After a moment, he nods.]

That doesn't surprise me. Much as many of its inhabitants leave something to be desired, this hasn't proved a terrible place to be so far.

[And, considering what he's heard of what all awaits Jamil at home. . . yeah.]

I can see how that sort of plan would make sense for you.

Perhaps my plans will change again, after I do become a warden. For now, I have something important to focus on, and that's enough.

[ On that note, however, he gestures to the side a bit, moving on to the question now. ]

Have you decided on the route you want to take?

[He looks at Jamil awhile, then gives a hum.]

For now, I'm lying low and playing along.

[A gesture of his hand.]

If playing the goody two-shoes type is the fastest path to getting out of this situation, then so be it.

[A sigh!]

Frankly, to be treated like a prisoner is quite insulting. I'll be seeing if it's possible to gain independent access to areas in time.

[There's a quiet sound of wry amusement.]

So, essentially, the same route I'm taking, but with a slightly different main focus.

[After a short pause...]

I have no plans to be on my best behavior, just yet, but I am interested in seeing how quickly good behavior will pay off.
